Infortunios de Alonso Ramírez: Barroco, religión y texto

Abstract

RESUMEN En el conjunto de textos escritos luego de la conquista y la colonización de las Américas podemos observar distintos acercamientos a este gran proyecto de expansión imperial. Por un lado, nos encontramos con textos que ejemplifican una visión triunfal de la empresa europea y por otro, vemos textos que presentan escenarios menos gloriosos. Este trabajo trata de demostrar que el texto Infortunios de Alonso Ramírez (1690) de Carlos de Sigüenza y Góngora (1645 –1700) es un ejemplo de la ambigüedad de sentido que presentan otras obras. La apreciación que hacemos de Infortunios puede ser orientada a una u otra de estas maneras de ver la empresa de la conquista. Su lectura se mantiene en una tensión rica entre una lectura de lealtad y una lectura de ruptura. ABSTRACT After the conquest and colonization of the Americas we can see the production of texts that represented different views of the Spanish imperial process. In one hand, we can see texts that exemplify the triumphant view and in the other hand, there are texts that represent the tragic aspect of these events. This work tries to demonstrate that the text Infortunios de Alonso Ramírez by Carlos de Sigüenza y Góngora is an example of ambiguity between those two polarities. The appreciation of Infortunios could be oriented to either the triumphal view or the tragic view of the presence of Spain in the Americas. The text keeps a rich tension between loyalty and rupture with the Spanish imperial system.
